"The Fireflower" -- Mighty Super Mario 3...
(click on the above picture to see a full panoramic view!)
Here it is at last, the finalized version of the massive Super Mario 3 airship project that I’ve been gradually working on since November 2011! Initially planned to be much smaller and streamlined, this titanic brute ballooned up to a larger scale, and used over 8,000 LEGO pieces in its completed form — as well as...

Plasmashock: Heroic Nintendobot -- Transforms from...
Here it is, the final version and high-res display of my newest creation: Plasmashock, the NES Zapper pistol / Transformers ultimate geeky crossover!
For its transformation mechanism, I built it more similar to Megatron rather than Shockwave; both Transformers used their gun handles as legs, only Shockwave formed his arms to make the barrel, whilst Megatron’s...

Come my minions, rise for your master!
Here are the first eight red-shelled Koopa Troopas to man my ships! I’m awaiting for more parts to arrive in the mail, then I’ll make eight more troops — green shells! I’ll probably designate 3 or 4 soldiers to be be winged Koopa Paratroopas to float around and escort the ships.
The red-shelled koopas have curved slopes, as the green-shelled ones will have regular...

Greetings From Atop the Ship's Warp Pipe!
Here’s my imitation of that iconic photo of the construction workers sitting on the girder structure of the Empire State Building…
My dirty secret: I hired independent contractors to do the plumbing in my ship, and look who I ended up using! Hopefully those two brothers don’t sabotage my men’s room urinal.
Below: The completed fireflower stained glass window!

Ludwig von Koopa à la LEGO!
In anticipation of my new Super Mario 3 airship project, here’s another component of my planned LEGO Mario large diorama — Ludwig von Koopa, the coolest of the seven Koopalings! Ludwig (or Kooky in the cartoon show) was always my favorite villain in the series, and as a child, I drew fan art of his doomships. Unfortunately, Ludwig and I fought to the death in episode 7 of...

Airship's Initial Light and Wire Rigging
More work-in-progress of the doomship!
The hollow warp pipe, the electrical switch, and the goomba wall mosaic!
The inside section of the captain’s deck roof, with the future site of the lightbulb!
It doesn’t take a Super Mario 3 ace to identify what image will soon come about of the tiled floor mosaic!

How to get abstract vintage LEGO Space backgrounds... →
Here’s a page where I created multiple backgrounds similar to the box art found on ’80s and ’90s Space sets, which you can download and use yourself for original creations as you’d like!

My awesome tattoos posted on Fuck Yeah Tattoos! →
fuckyeahtattoos:
Done by the ever-so-talented Kristen Fristed of New York, here’s my legendary LEGO Futuron spaceman and Castle Forestman minifig tattoos!
As some of you folks know already, the red Futuron astronaut from the mid-late 1980s Space sets is my all-time favorite minifigure — that I never actually owned. As a young child, I wanted that one figure more than anything, but...

Space Duel
Here’s a mixed media vignette I made, which uses two LEGO starfighters engaged in a battle, and using black thread, they’re suspended in front of a neon matte painting! Multiple blacklights are shined upon the diorama, thus creating the effect of the ships’ lasers and fire glowing, as the galactic clouds, asteroids and stars illuminate.

LEGO Shockmaster Debut

Because, he is none other than…

Pasties & a G-String: New York Burlesque Girls
In honor of my recent major shift from reclusiveness to being a socialite by means of incursions into the New York City Burlesque scene (as a patron!), I have made a little diorama depicting multiple stars such as Miss Coney Island BB Heart, former Miss Coney Island Bambi the Mermaid & Lefty Lucy, and the ever-so-lovely Bambi Galore! This set was made with multiple Castle pieces and an...

Blacktron II Mobile Suit "Obliteration"
As promised previously, I made a larger and more powerful mobile suit mecha to battle my M-Tron unit — and with an early ’90s Blacktron II color scheme and setup! Behold: Obliteration!
We’re heavy duty.
Standing much larger than its rival Disruptor, this menacing brute is the next piece of equipment made by the Blacktrons to infiltrate the M-Tron mining bases and steal...

M-Tron Mobile Suit "Disruptor"
If you haven’t noticed by now, I have a bit of an obsession with LEGO Space, namely M-Tron. In keeping my fascination with M-Tron combined with my hobby of assembling Gundam models, I’ve created an original Mobile Suit of a vintage fashion!
This project was made overnight in just a few hours, and the Photoshopping took a bit (the hard part was all the glowing)!
Equipped with...

If there's something strange in your neighborhood....
Project originally built in August 2009, article migrated to Tumblr on 8/21/2011
Way back in my old apartment in Lancaster, I randomly decided to build this replica Ecto-1 upon recently moving in and setting up my then-new LEGO table!
And finally, the best part was when Lancaster City’s outdoor market was viciously ravished by the green ghost, and Egon had to assess the...

Brunkland: The Early Days
Projects built during August-October 2009, article published on August 18, 2011
Way back in my days of dwelling in a tiny, cramped 1.5 bedroom apartment in Lancaster, I had an entire spare mini room devoted to hopefully building a small medieval city from LEGO bricks. This was of course, when I was in the mindset of living in that place longterm, and merely dreaming about moving...

General William Sherman was a crazy motherfucker who deserves to be LEGOed. For this awesome diorama, I depict his infamous march to the sea, in which he and his Union troops burned down Atlanta, Georgia during the autumn of 1864. In this...

It’s finally here: Baron von Brunk’s personal custom-built mobile suit Gundam! I call it Gundam PA02, or “The Pennsylvania Zero-Two”, a heavy duty mechanized monster. Standing at a whopping 18” tall, this brick brute is far greater in size...
